If you are receiving this error then your Microsoft .NET Framework is set to the wrong version. To correct this follow the instructions below:

1. Go to Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools or Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools.

2. Double click Internet Services Manager.

3. Locate and double click your Web Server

4. Double click Default Web Site to expand.

5. Right click Customer Portal and select Properties.

6. Navigate to the tab labeled ASP.NET.

7. From the dropdown select 2.0.

8. Save and exit.
