Later versions of SL 9+ have functions to perform maintenance on the database. Use this if you receive time outs, that are not network related.
- Go to Administration->Administration
- Scroll the tabs to the far right to Database Statistics
- If you are using MSDE 2000, a message will pop up, follow those instructions instead of the rest of this article
- Click Reindex DB.
This function may take from a few minutes to hours to run depending on change history. When complete, the DB will have been reorganized.
