NOTE:  THIS FUNCTIONALITY ONLY IS AVAILABLE IN SERVICELEDGER 2009 OR HIGHER.

ServiceLedger 2009 introduced new functionality when creating Time Entries that would automatically create a line item charge for any travel and/or mileage you enter.  The purpose of this functionality was to update the costing information on the work order even if you were not going to invoice the customer for travel or mileage.  By default, if you have any positive quantity for Travel Charges and/or Mileage it will create the line item for you on the work order with a price, if defined, otherwise as a cost.

If you do not wish to have this feature engaged, please follow the appropriate instructions below:

DISABLE TRAVEL CHARGES

If you only want to disable the travel charges perform the following steps:

  1. Update your version of ServiceLedger to the latest release using the ServiceLedger Updater.
  2. Goto Administration | Administration in ServiceLedger and open the Global Preferences tab.
  3. Click the Add button to add a global preference.
  4. Create a global preference called ticket.entry.travel_time.create under the Option # column.
  5. Set the Value to 0.
  6. Click anywhere else in the window to save the value, then click on Save under the Global Preferences tab.
  7. Save and Close out of the Administration Window.
  8. You should log out and log back in to ServiceLedger for the changes to take affect.

DISABLE MILEAGE

If you only want to disable the mileage charges perform the following steps:

  1. Update your version of ServiceLedger to the latest release using the ServiceLedger Updater.
  2. Goto Administration | Administration in ServiceLedger and open the Global Preferences tab.
  3. Click the Add button to add a global preference.
  4. Create a global preference called ticket.entry.travel_meter.create under the Option # column.
  5. Set the Value to 0.
  6. Click anywhere else in the window to save the value, then click on Save under the Global Preferences tab.
  7. Save and Close out of the Administration Window.
  8. You should log out and log back in to ServiceLedger for the changes to take affect.
