This is caused by shutting down a restoration process before its completion.  These instructions will show you how to delete the corrupted database and restore a recent backup of your database.  If you do not have a recent backup of your database you must contract an experienced SQL Server dba or ServiceLedger to attempt to fix the corrupted database.  DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A RECENT BACKUP OF YOUR DATABASE AS IT REQUIRES THE PERMANENT DELETION OF YOUR EXISTING DATABASE !!!

  1. Ensure all ServiceLedger updaters & applications are not running
  2. Go to Start->Run
  3. Type: osql -E -S .\ServiceLedger
    Note: If you are not running an MSDE instance, you should omit the part from '-S' onwards. This would be the case if you put ServiceLedger's database on your own SQL server or if you're running a version of ServiceLedger prior to 6.0.
  4. At the 1> prompt type: drop database ServiceLedger
  5. Press return
  6. At the 2> prompt type: go
  7. Press return
  8. At the 1> prompt type: exit
  9. Press return
  10. Go to Start->(All) Programs->ServiceLedger->Updater (you will get a message about no database found)
  11. Now follow the normal restore instructions to restore your recent backup at:
