(T0029) How do I import an SAF file?

SAF stands for ServiceLedger Automation File. It is a XML based format that automates ServiceLedger for imports and automation. The files are usually written by ServiceLedger developers by hand or by use of maps.

  1. Backup Database using the updater, the instructions are located in article T0003 
  2. Open ServiceLedger, click on File->Import/Export->SAF Import/Export
  3. Locate and click the Import Results tab
  4. Click Load SAF
  5. Locate and open your SAF file
  6. Click Process Results
  7. Wait until the application stops on the last record, it is usually given to you with the SAF file
  8. Close any open windows, and then close the application

Large imports can take a while. As imports run, they have visual cues as they progress. If you encounter any errors, please capture a screen shot and email it to support@serviceledger.com. If you need to restore, the instructions are located in article T0004
