The most common reason for any timeout errors is network reliability at the time you are experiencing the timeout error.  Most timeout errors will occur on multi-user installations and occur when the server is experiencing issues at that time and the workstation is unable to connect to the server reliably.  Wireless networks generally experience timeout issues more than wired networks.
